Last night I was really sleepy, and I returned to the dormitory relatively early. I probably got into bed around 11 PM, watched a bit of a TV series, and fell asleep around 11:30 PM. I took a melatonin pill at 11 PM and felt that when I woke up in the morning, I didn't have that particularly sleepy and hard-to-wake-up feeling like before. It might be the effect of the melatonin, or maybe I just went to bed a bit earlier, but I think it should be the effect of the melatonin. Today, I looked into the effects of melatonin and didn't notice any obvious side effects. I had always been reluctant to take any sleep medications, feeling that they would affect my sleep later on, but now I feel that taking melatonin to sleep is quite good.
